Sweet Designs
May 3, 2007 |

Since besides being a father and frustrated blogger I am also a designer, I’ve decided to start scouring the web for some beautifully designed things that I wish to share with anyone else who is interested. My first entry in this new category, hereby called, “Sweet Designs” are these beautiful handmade glass bowls. At first glance I thought that these were actual cloth which was somehow laminated with glass and molded in a funky modern shape. But I discovered that these are actually strands of colored glass that are “fused together, then slump-fired into a basket shape.” As I said, sweet.

Reminds me of the colors of some kind of holiday candy from when I was a kid, especially the one in the background. They’d make great candy bowls.
They definitely would make great candy bowls. I thought of those big round lollipops that they used to sell at the Deli when I was a kid. My parents would buy one and then break it into pieces for me and my sisters to share. You know, I really wanted a whole one for myself
Thanks for the comment.
