Ha’Ach Ha’Gadol is Watching

Use your cellphone in lieu of a radar detector? Maybe.
I just got an interesting phone call from my cell phone provider, Cellcom. They asked me if I drive on intercity roads. I said, “Yes.” Then they asked me if I’d like to sign up for a service that will notify me via my cell phone when I am within 3 kilometers of a speed trap. The Cellcom website doesn’t give a heck of a lot of information but it does say that the service is provided by a company called Netroads. According to their website you activate the service by calling *01 and deactivate it the same way. As you’re driving they will notify you when you are approaching either speed cameras or “fixed” locations where police normally wait to trap drivers.
I know that the cell providers already can track my phone whenever they want to, but do I really want to give them an excuse for doing it? I know that nowadays anyone can know pretty much anything about you whenever they want to, but it is unnerving to know that it can be so easy.
