SeeFred.com or “Why I will never be a millionaire in Israel”
November 9, 2005 |
This website sells a myriad of products that could never make you rich in the Israeli market. “Ice Kabobs”, for example. It isn’t that no one in Israel would ever buy that. I’m sure that you could sell a couple thousand of these here. But in the US, you could EASILY sell a million. They are charging $6.95 for one of these. Can’t cost more than $.50 to manufacture. It is just plastic after all. Maybe development cost a few thousand bux. So let’s say initial investment cost the inventor $3,000. Say she manufacturers 250,000 of them. She just made herself a cool $1.6 million. And that is if she only sells 250k of them. There are over 295 million people living in the US. If she finds a market of less than HALF A PERCENT of the population. She’s a millionaire. Several times over.
That’s why we need honest free trade. If it was easy to sell any product anywhere in the world, everyone could be rich if they have an even semi-decent idea. Of course, the way that governments want free trade now isn’t honest and it isn’t free, but who knows what the future will bring?
In the meantime, I’m gonna think up ideas for some killer products. Anyone up for some caramel flavored shoelaces?
