I’ll admit it. I’m scared about the future of our country. The Palestinians have admitted that they are not going to disarm. They will keep their weapons and keep them pointed at us and we’re withdrawing, and allowing them time to regroup, and permitting them to travel and to accept money to buy more weapons. So where does that leave us? We left Lebanon and Hizbullah is attacking us practically every day. So now we leave the PA areas and what? Are we going to keep withdrawing until we have what we had in before ‘67? And then what? Maybe we are just going to repeat history. We’ll have this tiny country that is still surrounded on all sides by our harshest enemies. They will all attack us. Nobody will come to our aid. We’ll defend ourselves and maybe we’ll win again. Maybe this time, we won’t stop at the Temple Mount. Maybe this time, we will defeat our enemies utterly and completely. Maybe that will allow us time to rest.

But I doubt it.

The difference this time is that I don’t think we will win.

People say that Gd was with us in ‘67. That He led us to victory. If He did, what makes us think He will do it again? Why should He? We got ourselves into this position. We brought ourselves to the brink of disaster. Why should He stop us from completing the destruction? What reason have we given Him to come to our aid? He promised us that He would never destroy us. Did He promise us that He would stop us from destroying ourselves?
