My friend Gal just repeated to me the old saying, “Man plans and Gd laughs.” I often wonder if Gd really laughs or if he cries at the plans of mankind. They are talking about letting Barghouti go free as part of the “Road Map” to “peace”. A few months ago, they were demanding that he be tried for murdering Jews and now they are debating letting him go without even finishing his trial. Maybe it isn’t Gd’s ways that are unfathomable. Maybe Gd simply doesn’t understand the schemes of His creations and does His best to keep up with the myriad of ways we find to diverge from the path that He has laid out for us.
